Your movies and shows, on every screen you own, without collecting your data.

Who we are
REPLAY (“REPLAY”, “we”, “us”) is an app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch, designed and built by Joseph Rochlin (Jöí Fabü). Questions about this policy: support@getflyer.app.
Information we collect
None. REPLAY does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers or usage analytics, and contains no advertising or third-party tracking code. We don’t run servers for REPLAY, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent to us.
Your videos
REPLAY plays your videos from wherever you keep them. It never uploads them to us, and it never copies them anywhere you didn’t choose.
- Photos. With your permission, REPLAY opens the videos you choose and plays them from your Photos library. On your other devices it plays the same videos from your iCloud Photos.
- The Files app. When you pick videos or folders in the Files app (your device, iCloud Drive, a USB or SD drive, or another app that appears in Files), REPLAY gets permission to read only what you picked. That permission belongs to the device you picked them on, stays on it and isn’t synced, so those videos play on that device.
- OneDrive and Dropbox. You sign in on the service’s own sign-in page. REPLAY never sees your password, and it asks only to read your files (and, for OneDrive, your basic profile, to show which account is connected). Videos stream straight from your account to your device. Microsoft’s and Dropbox’s own privacy policies apply to your account.
- Shared folders and WebDAV. When you add a shared folder on a Mac, PC or NAS, or a WebDAV server, REPLAY reads videos straight from it over your network. The address, user name and password you enter are used only to connect to that server.
- Share to REPLAY. When you share a video from Photos to REPLAY, REPLAY receives only the video you chose, on your device, to add it to your channels.
Your sign-ins
Sign-ins for OneDrive, Dropbox, shared folders and WebDAV servers are kept in your device’s Keychain. So that you only sign in once, on iPhone or iPad, REPLAY also keeps a copy in your own private iCloud, end-to-end encrypted with keys only your devices have. Your other devices, including Apple TV, use it to play from the same places. Neither we nor Apple can read it. Remove a place in REPLAY › Settings › Sources and its sign-in is deleted from that device and from your iCloud.
Playing your videos
- On your device. Sorting, covers, scene picking, Clarity and subtitles (using Apple’s speech recognition) all happen on your device. The audio and pictures never leave it.
- Other formats. Videos in formats Apple’s player doesn’t open by itself, such as MKV or AVI, are rewrapped live on your device as they play. The temporary pieces are kept in REPLAY’s cache and deleted when you stop watching.
- Smooth Playback. To keep playback smooth, REPLAY may download the video you’re watching, and the one up next, from where it lives to your device’s cache, and delete it afterwards.
- Previews. REPLAY may cut a short preview clip from some of your own videos and keep it in that device’s cache, so a title can preview when you rest on it. Previews never leave the device. Turn off Autoplay previews in REPLAY › Settings.
- Downloads. Videos you download for offline viewing are stored only on that device.
iCloud sync
Your library (titles, channels, their order, where each video lives), profiles, favorites, ratings, progress, paused frames, covers, subtitles and settings are stored in your own private iCloud account, so all your devices stay in step. This data is protected by Apple and is not accessible to us. If iCloud is off, REPLAY keeps everything on your device.
Apple Watch and your home network
- Apple Watch. REPLAY on iPhone sends your Continue Watching list (titles, episode details, progress and small artwork) to REPLAY on your Apple Watch, through Apple’s own connection between your iPhone and watch. It’s kept on the watch so it opens instantly.
- Finding your Apple TV. While REPLAY is open on an Apple TV, it shows itself on your home Wi-Fi under that Apple TV’s name, so REPLAY on your iPhone can find it and pass on what you choose on your watch: what to play, the remote’s buttons, and what’s playing now. This goes directly between your own devices on your own network, never through the internet or any server. Each request carries a private key that only your devices know, kept in your own iCloud, so nothing else on your network can control REPLAY.
- Local Network permission. iOS asks before REPLAY can look for your Apple TV on your network. You can change this any time.
Artwork and details
When Find cover art and details is on (Settings › Library), REPLAY looks up titles it recognises from your file names, such as a show’s name, on TVmaze (show artwork, episode titles and descriptions) and Wikipedia (movie descriptions). Only that title is sent, with no personal information. Each service’s own privacy policy applies to that lookup. Turn the switch off and nothing is looked up.
Sharing
When you tap Share, such as for your Lifetime video or poster, it goes only where you choose, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Purchases
Subscriptions and Lifetime purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple gives REPLAY a record of your purchase so the app can confirm REPLAY Pro on your devices, as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
REPLAY doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
