Help with REPLAY, and how to reach us.
Common questions
How do I get started?
Open REPLAY and start the 7-day free trial, or choose Monthly or Lifetime. Then tap + on Home, pick videos from your Photos, check how REPLAY sorted them, and tap Add.
How do I use Share to REPLAY?
In Photos, open a video, tap Share, then REPLAY. A card shows where it’s going; tap Add to REPLAY. Don’t see REPLAY in the row? Scroll to the end, tap More and add it.
Which devices does REPLAY work on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 26, Apple TV with tvOS 26, and Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26, or later, plus REPLAY on Apple Watch alongside your iPhone. On Mac and Apple Vision Pro, get REPLAY from the App Store on that device.
How does REPLAY sort my videos?
From their file names: Show.S01E02.mp4 becomes Season 1, Episode 2 of that show; Movie (2019).mp4 becomes a movie; videos from your camera become home videos, grouped by when you filmed them. Tap any group before adding to rename it or change what it is.
My videos don’t show on my other devices.
Make sure each device is signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud Photos turned on (on Apple TV: Settings › Users and Accounts › your name › iCloud Photos). In REPLAY on iPhone, check Settings › Library › iCloud sync says On. New channels can take a minute to appear.
Which video formats work?
Almost all of them. MP4, MOV and M4V play as they are. MKV, AVI, WMV, WebM, FLV, MPG, VOB, MPEG-TS, OGV and more are rewrapped live on your device and play in Apple’s own player, with Clarity, subtitles and Up Next. Protected (DRM) videos aren’t supported.
How do I add videos from Files, OneDrive, Dropbox or a computer?
On iPhone or iPad, tap + on Home and choose where they are: Files, OneDrive, Dropbox, Shared folder (a Mac, PC or NAS) or WebDAV. Sign in or enter the server’s address, then pick videos or a whole folder. They play straight from there: nothing is copied and no iCloud space is used. Manage them in Settings › Sources.
Which devices play videos from Files, OneDrive and Dropbox?
OneDrive, Dropbox, shared folders and WebDAV play on every device, Apple TV included: sign in once on iPhone and your other devices use it too. Videos picked in the Files app play on the device you picked them on, because that’s where they are.
How does REPLAY on Apple Watch work?
Open REPLAY on your Apple Watch to see what you’ve been watching. Tap a title, choose an Apple TV, and pick who’s watching on the TV; it plays from that spot and your watch becomes the remote. REPLAY needs to be open on the Apple TV (even just on Home), with your iPhone nearby on the same Wi-Fi.
My Apple TV doesn’t show up on my watch.
Open REPLAY on the Apple TV and leave it on Home. On your iPhone, check Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network and make sure REPLAY is on, and that your iPhone and Apple TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
How do previews work?
Rest on a title and, a moment later, its preview plays. REPLAY makes short clips quietly on each device, on Wi-Fi only and never while you’re watching. Turn them off in Settings › Autoplay previews.
How do I change a channel’s cover?
Open the channel › ••• › Change cover. Choose one of your best scenes, a photo, the official artwork or the title alone. While adding videos, tap a group › Cover.
How do Shuffle and Repeat work?
Like music. Shuffle plays a channel in random order, Repeat All starts it over, and Repeat One loops a video. Set defaults in Settings › Playback, or per channel on its page. On Apple TV they’re also in the player’s menu.
How does Skip Intro work?
If a video has chapters for its intro, Skip Intro appears automatically. Otherwise, on Apple TV, open the player’s menu during an episode and choose Intro Ends Here once; every episode of that show then offers Skip Intro.
Can REPLAY make subtitles?
Yes. Turn on Settings › Subtitles › Make subtitles when missing. Your iPhone creates them privately for videos that don’t have their own, and they appear on your other screens too.
How do I switch between Light and Dark?
REPLAY › Settings › Appearance: Light, Dark or Match iPhone. Videos and the player always stay dark.
How do I restore REPLAY Pro on a new device?
REPLAY › Settings › Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions › REPLAY › Cancel Subscription. REPLAY Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
What is Play Something?
Can’t decide what to watch? Tap Play Something (on Home, in Search, or on Apple TV’s Home) and REPLAY picks a show or movie for whoever’s watching, tells you why, and starts it. Tap Play Something Else for another pick.
A video paused while it was playing.
Make sure Settings › Playback › Smooth Playback is on: videos then download ahead as they play. The same screen shows how your last video played, including any pause and why. If pauses keep happening, email us what it says.
